Joomla is a fork of Mambo - the CMS that we used to use for the WCN website. Currently Joomla and Mambo are nearly identical in terms of coding, functions etc. Third party add-ons are largely compatible with both Joomla and Mambo. However, with Joomla 1.5 this will not necessarily be the case. Both Joomla and Mambo do an excellent job of managing a website.
